Not yet but I have to say the next canister filter I buy won't be a Fluval. I have a 305 and 404 and the stupid things wouldn't start back up, I sat there for 20 minutes trying to get them going again doing everything you can and when I finally say F it i throw a quick jab at the 404 and wouldn't you know it, it starts running..:wall: So why not do the same to the 305? It started up with a weak flow but it started non the less. Any suggestions for my next purchases? It'll likely be for a future 180g.
 
I have a 204, 4- 404s and 4- fx5s. Never had the problems you're having. Only time I had minor difficulty starting a 404 was due to a filthy impellar. Sorry to hear you're having so much trouble.
 
did you pump water into it? for your future 180 use the fx5 hahaha its boss idk why your others dont work never had to problem before. but yea did you pump it before starting it, also check the fan thing in it, thats all i can say if you dont pump water into it before turning it on you'll have problems
 
Just get an Fx5. Hahaha there the best
 
Get an FX5, never had any issues with it. In fact thats my next purchase. I also had rena filstars and they worked good. I had a few ehiem 2217's work great but can be a pain in the but to prime.
 
I'm not sure what the problem was exactly but they're both running again and thankfully I won't have to deal with this again if not for a while, then ever. I guess with all of you backing it I'll give the Fx5 a go next. I guess this was just a freak incident.. Thanks for the input everyone, much appreciated.
