I'm torn oscars or native tank

Well the title says it should i shoot for oscars or a native tank (native to southeastern mi) so blue gill sunfish craw fish

Or should I do oscars

I like both ideas don't want anything too aggressive

Natives give you more options and flexibility. For years Oscars were a limiting factor for me. Large aggressive and u couldn't design the tank you wanted because the Oscars had the final say on how things were arranged.

I like the idea of natives, like you said I have options, it's fun for the kids catch a fish it's a pet (depending on laws with different fish) and most importantly I can use it as a learning tool for the kids since these fish are in the lakes and streams around us we can better learn about our own Eco system.

With Oscars though you can teach your kids that fish are really only like you because you have food lolol

I've always had oscars love them they are like my dogs lol always begging for food which in the past my kids liked and they were big my buddy used to have oscars that he could get to "dance" by waving his hands so that's what I'm torn lol
