First, do these need calcium in the water? Second, should I keep animals in the tank for nitrate production? Third, should I go brackish or marine? Fourth, I am using PC lighting. Good enough?

Brackish or marine - you pick.

I haven't heard about adding calcium myself - anyone have any input about that? And no, you don't need to "add nitrate producers" It really isn't much more than sticking them in some water and keeping lights on them, and they're happy.

If I keep it in marine, I assuming I can add some hermit crabs, if I add some crushed coral?

oh yeah, it's really more up to what you want to keep with them that would determine SW or BW. teh hermits should be fine but a would add a few little peices of live rock for them to munch on.
pc lighting sounds like more than enough, you don't plan on keping an adult tree rihgt? lol

I'll get some live rock pieces at the store I work at. Tree? We'll see what happens! LOL

best advice I can give you wurm is don't kill them......

what watts are the pc and K temp on the bulbs....you should have the crushed coral anyway for them to root to...

The trees don't care what is in the water LOL Hermits won't hurt them, if that's what you're asking. Just plant, and enjoy! Just as long as the top 1/2 is out of water.

you should try those mangrove fish, that can get out of water...I don't remember their name..they're awesome a friend of mine has some for years...

MUGSKIPPERS!!!!
that'd be awesome
