I want to put live plants in my new tank but i want sand and sand is expensive is there anywhere i could get sand for a good price? Also what KIND of sand do i need? Does it have to be a certain type of sand?

Playground sand is about 6-8 dollars for a 50 pound bag, I would suggest rinsing multiple times after buying it. Lots of people on here use playground sand

Play sand is inert, so if you're keeping sensitive root-feeders, you may need to add some fertilizer tabs in the sand regularly.

if you want sand with plants, maybe you want some Seachem Laboratories Flourite Black Sand.
