ok so i always wonder why people on forums always say things like in my opinion IMO or IMHO, my 2 cents, .02.... and so on...


when u say something... its your opinion, you don't have to say IMO... if ur saying it of course its your opinion...

and by saying something like just my two cents... downplays the validity of what ur saying... we already know its ur two cents, by u saying it!


i dunno just always wondered why people do that, kind of annoying.


PS: when people say ATM machine it makes me laugh... so u mean u need to go to the automatic teller machine machine? damn u must be rich.

same thing with HIV virus! u must have it pretty bad if u have the virus virus!

What if what I'm saying is a fact? Then it isn't my opinion. That is the only time I say IMO is when someone new asking the advice might think what I am stating is absolute and the correct answer in every situation. I let them know this is only my opinion. I do see where your coming from though.

IMO we should use the terms to qualify our expertice. For instance, IMHO would be used when you "think" you know. IMO would be reserved for experts and people who are not humble.
