Importing Monster Fish into India.

Hi.

I'm new here and I'm starting a new project where I want Monster Fishes in my new 2 acre pond in Shillong. Species like Giant Mekong Catfish, Arapaima, Siamese Carp, Amazon Redtail, Asian Redtail, Alligator Gar.

ALL IMPORTERS HERE SEEM TO ONLY IMPORT 'ORNAMENTAL FISHES'. DONT KNOW IF THAT CAN HELP ME JUSTIFY WITH THE BREEDS THAT I WANT.

Anyone here has any experience or input that can save me some time and trouble?

they are based in cali us but not sure if they ship globaly they ship to canada which is y I thought they might

Your best bet is to talk with your local store owner/manager/who ever does the orders and ask them if they can show you the list and order what you want. That's the best way I've found to get what's not always available instead of dealing with global shipping on your own. Besides, I think most of the fish you listed are produced on a large scale and shouldn't be difficult to find if you shop around and wait.

None of the monster fish can be imported legally into india.

Whatever is already there in India, can be legally purchased.

There's a list of species, such as guppies, mollies, corys, that can be imported legally.

I am curious how you can keep such a big pond in Shillong warm enough for fish like arapaima, amazon redtail etc.?
Isn't the winter pretty cold there?
