I have been offered the opportunity to order 30 2" NTT dats for $350 including shipping from a fellow on a different forum. Has anyone ordered dats this way before and what was the result (mortality rate etc). They will be going into a 120g grow out tank (78 x 22 x 16h) with 6 baby motoro pups.

why do you want 30 baby NTTs?

when, and if they arrive, these will all be undoubtedly shy and will probably hide all day long for next year and most will probably display dark unstable coloration... it's not what you want.

you want a nice stable and good looking datnoid that's outgoing and active.

no point in having a million fish that doesn't show their full potential and hide all day.

i would do it. keep the hidding spots to a minimum if you are going to keep them all. but either way i think it would be a good investment.

Yes, I was thinking of selling them after they grew up a bit. I'm not sure that I'd make much when I factor in the cost of food, though. They would be in a bare tank with no decor to hide behind.

Maybe I should think about this a little more...

Yeah 3 months worth of food at the least till they get to about $40 dollar($20 to you) LFS price size around here. I'd be getting some market shrimp, about 10-15 Lbs of it and when the food was out it would be time to sell. Thats alot of your time though.

Yeah alot well probably be unstable MlL but if he isnt that picky the more the fish grow up to know him the more stable they will get...Getting them stable has to start some where. :)

just be careful when you ship NTT they do seam to get ick easy
