I've contact some vendor in south america about importing some peacock bass for my collection. They told me that its restricted from exporting because its a source of people food over there. If its restricted from exporting does it almost mean that its illegal for me to import them? I do want some, but reallt don't want to get into trouble. Is there any experts on these that could help me out? Thanks.

just order from one of the vendors on the forum

I know from a vendor that pbass export is banned in Brazil but legal in Peru (restrictions may occur regarding different subspecies). Also keep in mind that alot of pbass offered for sale is CB.

Ask some of the vendors on here about it. If they arent rare bass i wud just buy from a vemdor anyways.

Like above stated in peru -Columbia they can still export but not Brasil...

ive got a question, i can understand catching a few baby 2-3" cichla, but how the hell do you get 200 of them? I always see vendors with 200+ wild caught cichla @ 2-3". I fish quite a bit at lake mead and will occasionally catch a few baby stripers, bluegill, and lmb when i try to net shad, but never any significant numbers.

Because they are good at it :D
Also, when bass are fry, they will school together in the shallows. I've seen balls of Largemouth fry WELL into the hundreds. Don't go by Lake Mead fish numbers, that place SUCKS. The waters they are getting these pbass fry from are significantly more fertile and support an immensely higher number of fish.
