Hi all! Like the title says, i would really like to get some help on importing stingrays from some of the most reputable breeders abroad. I have already pm'ed the other members here that have done it before but got no reply. I would really really to acquire some nice black diamond pairs from top stingray (thailand), stingraywebshop (lode verhage), and last but not the least, potamotrygon.nl (mark huveneers). I have already been in contact with the breeders and it seems that it all leads up to this issue. Does anybody here know where i can find an agent in the ny/nj area that could assist me with the shipments as i really don't want to risk anything as these rays will be high quality and very very expensive and it would be a shame if something bad happened. Thank you all in advance.

US fish and wildlife.

It all starts there. Lots of paper work, lots of time, and lots of money.

Why not just have H20 get them for you?

Thank you for your reply. Do i still need to go through fish and wildlife? I thought that is what the agents are for? I have bought rays from h20, ill ask mike if he could help me out. Thanks again.

My understanding is the agents will help you clear them, but you need to jump through thier hoops with the paperwork, permits, and fees.

When I was researching this for getting my Falks I found that it was very cost prohibitive to go through all this for just one order of rays. Was much cheaper to pay a trans shipper and just hope for the best. Some of the papaer work can take up to a month so it's a good idea to start planning ahead.

They are very vague about a lot of the costs too, very hard to get a good idea of what stuff is gonna cost cause it's so much per box and it all depends on number of boxes and value.

But then again if you have the loot to be importing fancy black rays, then the $ fish and wildlife gets should be no biggie but sounded like the paperwork part is a biggie.

IF it was cheap and easy there would be lots of people importing. I found just the paperwork hoops to be more then I was willing to deal with when you can just pay a transhipper to clear them for you.

Good luck!! Please let us know how it goes!
