I was at the good LFS yesterday getting some blackworms and ghost shrimp for my BGK. I saw this beautiful purple plant--"dragon tongue"-- and knew exactly where to put it. Problem is that preliminary results from wetwebmedia say that it is just a bog plant.

Sigh, I should've known it was too good to be true. This shop has a history of selling peace lilies and whatever else as aquarium plants.

I really like this plant. Does anyone know how long I can expect it to last?

if you have enought ambient light you might try putting it in a HOB filter over your tank.

Looks like a crypt to me too.

think i had one of those before... not sure tho..nice pickup

Yeah, the leaves definitely looks like a crypt's, but the stem is much woodier and there are/were blossoms on it. I am virtually sure that it's not aquatic. *sigh* We'll see what happens.

Many plants will blossom, and crypts are not excluded from that.

looks like Cryptocoryne cordata var. blassii to me
