the lfs
today i went to the lfs and saw a "freshwater lionfish" i bought it on impulse cananyone tell me anything about em ive heard theyre brackish but will venture to freshwater at times

What is sold as a fresh water lionfish is usually a type of scorpian fish, a bottom dweller with venomous spines, ugly little brown, black, and green bugger. There was a thread about it not long ago.
I found it! Go to general aquarium discussion forum and then go back to 08/10/05 and look for Fresh water lionfish? thread. there is a good photo and info link

i have done an impulse buy too...i bought 3 fish from my cousin for 50$.. big mistake. he said they were black piranha but BPs have the under bite and they do not have red bellys and they cant live together. they are a solo fish unless lucky enough to find a pair.. needless to say i have 3 well now 2 giant pacus that i cant get rid of...they are a foot or more in size.

I am sure someone with a pond will take them for free.

They need warm water, winter will kill them in Indiana pond.

I made an impulse buy with some GSP and now looking for new tank to hold them.....

Glad the LFS doesnt carry whales or id be in real trouble
