Well I was only browsing the other day and I came across a tank of some very small Datnoids. They were all about 1” long and I don’t think I’ve ever seen them so small for sale. Anyway I saw a few that were actually colored up when I saw this lil guy. I just couldn’t help myself and grabbed two of the ones with nicest markings. They are still very small but are in quarantine right now and are just getting settled in. One is eating mysis already and they are starting to swim around the tank. I tried to get some decent pictures of them but they are still very skittish. It’s been over ten years since I’ve kept Dats, but I’m back. 1AEA7B67-80C9-460F-A600-806387D4751E.jpegB9156381-22DC-4BE9-8FB2-539AD20C6573.jpegAC368DA8-5E1E-44BC-9478-254AAAA31DD8.jpeg4C426F6F-C8B6-475A-B3AD-94C09632BC80.jpeg

nice pick-up.
Forget the mysis-when they're small like that offer them only pellets. Thats the best size to wean them onto pellets. I bought 3 under an inch and they all took pellers straight away
Don't feed them anymore frozen and just try them on small pellets ASAP

Thanks guys, I’m excited to take this journey again. I’m a much more patient fish keeper today then I was then. Any tricks to transitioning these guys to pellets? I’m thinking soaking pellets in with the mysis and feeding them both until they take them. Then ween them off the mysis.

I'd just give them pellets each day for at least a week-don't mix them with anything. If they don't eat them immediately then remove them.
If they start to look skinny then try some frozen to fatten them again and try the process again. Like I said IMO this is the perfect size to get them on pellets-once tehy get bigger its a bithc to wean them
