So I have this 10" Senegal that swims like a freaking Arowana. It swims and it harasses my 10" Jardini.. following it and nibbling at its side. Well today the Jardini finally stopped being nice and gave it quite a beating.. Even after the beating, the senegal is still swimming after the Jardini. Water parameters are fine, tank mates are a 5.5" Endlicheri, a 5" Albino Senegal, a 3.5" IT Datnoid. The Jar doesn't mess with anyone. Any ideas on how to stop my senegal from committing suicide? Besides the obvious, removing it.

Spelling fail.. Dilemma*

Your Jardini is getting to the size that they USUALLY become the nasty aggressive fish that they are known to be.
Senegal and Jardini is a bad combination, that will only end one way...

Sounds like he's horny and the jardini is the closest thing to his size and shape. Get him a good sized girl and see if he changes his attention.

I guess that would explain why the senegal was biting my aro.. I'll give it a go.

I think my Jardini was just defending itself. It has some nipped fins from the senegal, which I find really odd. My Jardini doesn't bother anyone else.. I'm well aware of the rep Jardini's carry. I also put a 24 hour cam on the tank last night.. The Jardini didn't do anything to the senegal. The senegal also stopped chasing the Jardini so I guess it learned its lesson.

My 8 month old male Senegal just hit "fish puberty" and is constantly chasing my 7 year old female sen, on the ground, mid water level, at the top, doesn't matter. Not nipping her fins though.. Just rubbing against her.

This sounds more like a Senegal trying to get some food. Fish like butterfly fish have a good chance of being stripped of fins from bichirs, and a jardini isnt too much different... But the jar does have the ability to strike back, hard.

I feed my polys regularly. Tilapia, shrimp and pellets 2X a day. I guess I should up the amount of food I feed as well..
