Hello all!

Just wondering if anyone knows of any in-line flow meters compatible with the FX6? I can't always tell how strong the flow through the filter is, as the output is hidden from view.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks! :)

Canister filters are sealed systems. The inflow rate has to equal the outflow rate by definition so it doesn't matter if you put the flow meter on the intake or return line.

I have the same issue with not being able to see the return flow from my filter as I have it plumbed to return to the bottom of my tank. I do have a siphon relief hole drilled in the return above the water line that spits a bit of water when the flow is good and goes down to a dribble when the flow is slowing. I also would like to put a flow meter on my filter to monitor how clogged it is. I have looked on Amazon and found flow meters from $20 to a few hundred $. HAve you found anything interesting?

I have not been able to find anything that looks suitable so far :( was hoping someone else might have a solution. I'm thinking it might be easier if one is using pvc piping as opposed to hoses.

I think it is a digital readout feature that some manufacturer should add. Seems only common sense to me, along with chemical levels. I'd certainly pay more for a unit with those features.

Some of those look like they might work. I don't think I saw any that were pvc, what would be your suggestion for doing the transition between hose, connector, and the meter?

Thanks!

Most are threaded, so if you are soft line tubing get some female X barb fittings. If you are hard line pvc get some unions and get some thread X slip fittings.

Main point is to try and keep your flow high and not introduce and regulations with cross section reduction.
