i was wondering if anyone had any experience with either the pantair or the hydor in line heaters, i was originaly thinking about plumbing the hydor in with my fx5 and one on my 305 because im going to use pvc but then i found the pantair and i like how it has slip fit fittings also ive herd that inline are more efficiant so im not sure as to how many to get i was thinking 2 300 watts would i only need one or get two, also this is going onto a 180g

I had a single Hydor 300watt in-line heater running in my 135g.. For your tank, I'd go with 2...

I use two of the hydor 300's on my 210 and they do a great job.

any input on the pantair?

I have no experience with the FX5, but I'd be worried about decreasing the flow. I run stealth and Hydor ETH. If I could replace all of the stealths with the ETH I would.

thats what i was worried about too, but i just decied to go with the pantair, because i like how i can just run my pvc into it. I guess if the flow really decreases i can run a pump for it and have it as a stand alone.
