Do you think they can both live in a 55? with good filtration and each have their own hiding places

id say go with gt and u can try to let them grow up together but their mite be aggression

my JD and GT did not tolerate each other . . . eventually the GT spent all day hiding . . . this was in a 90G with plenty of room, so I wouldn't try it again in a 55G

but, your mileage may vary . . .

My jd in a 55gal is a huge wuss. He hides all the time and I can't even leave the light on when I feed him or he won't eat. Go with a GT.
