I was transferring the male back to the large tank today for some more ray porn and in the process the male went crazy in the net and tore his barb right off. I made the quick transfer and when he was in I could see blood coming from where the barb was. Lights are out water is perfect. He is breathing heavy which always happens. It has been about20 minutes and blood flow has steadily decreased. He is hanging out with the 2 females but I just want to be sure if there are some precautions I should take or just leave him be with another big water change tonite after he settles down. Any info is greatly appreciated.

Alright, i moved my male motoro about a year ago, and same thing happened. He was in the net hung up and i was home alone. i did not know what to do. i had a pair of scissors close and i tried cutting the net off, it was so wrapped i could not... i tried to cut the stinger and/or break the stinger and he started thrashing and it completly ripped out of him and blood was pretty bad. He healed just fine, the next stinger he grew looked weird but was fine the next day.... mine was breathing really heavy the rest of the day..... After that i went and bought a rubber net....well worth it!
