I have the cichla each of them in the 2 to 3 inch range. I had them for around three months now, they dont seem to be growing at all. Im not being impatient or anything Im just not sure if what Im feeding them or maybe its too soon. The only thing Ive had success feeding them are frozen blood worms and they a lot of them. Any advice or just be patient?

DO NOT give them live food because once they get on it they dont get off!!lol just be patient and try to starve them for a few days then drop a few pellets in there to try and pellet train them so when they are bigger you wont go broke from buying feeders. As for the growing goes just be patient...what size tank? my cichla was in a 55 and barely growing and was bout 4". and make sure to keep the temp in the upper 80's because small pbass get ich easily and mine just died because of it...Good Luck!!!

As of now there in my 75 but Im in the process of setting of my 125 for them untill they grow that out and i keep the water temp at 84 i had one die of ich within the first week.

Not a big fan of starving small Cichla would not do it to mine try buying some farmed Tilapia fillet Frozen with a pretty sharp knife cut thin strips and cut very small pieces still somewhat still frozen roll some of your thawed blood worms in the frozen tilapia pieces try and get them to the suface to feed and pop those little pieces into the water they will get it eventually and once you have them feeding off the surface for a while the next step dry pellot.....

Alrighty preciate it..... im not gonna lie i cant wait for them start maturing and moved into an even larger permanent home. half the fun for me getting everything started
