I dont wan to but I guess I'm going to have to put a algea eater in the tank with my beauty. The algea is crazy in there no matter what we do...we've tried everything and all WL are right on. We do 35-40% water change once a week and have decreased her light timing. My question is which algea eater would be safest for both fish?

What kind of algae are we talking about? If you're referring to a pleco to help alleviate your issue, you'll soon find it dead or will do very little. Salt after every wc may help.

In my experience plecos did very little to control algae and created a bigger bio load. Type of algae will better help in figuring out a course of action

I have the same issue in most of my tanks. It's the lighting you're using that causes it. Bristlenose do wonders for cleaning, stay fairly small, and do not IME produce as much waste as some of the the larger ones. Chocolates stay on the smaller side and are tough as nails and do a good amount of cleaning but they do leave stringy poo in the aquarium.

So a common one would be fine? Finding chocolates where I live is like finding a needle in a haystack. I just dont want anything to happen to my flower horn.

Commons get big and are crap machines. If you're alright with that then go for it lol. I recommend a chocolate because they stay smaller

So just got home from LPS...I ended up getting an algea magnet since I can't find chocolate (brown) plecos in my area. Fingers crossed this works.
