My birthday was a few weeks ago so my sister figured she would buy me some fish from petland as a gift. She added them to my tank without asking me and once i noticed it was too late. Turns out all the fish she got me came with an infection and that infection basically killed off the grand majority of my stock. So now im left with 3 geo abalios, 1 Satanoperca leucosticta, and four lemon tetra's. I kind of dont know where to go with this anymore. I have a 120g with 2 ac110's running and an ehiem 2217. any suggestions as to what kind of fish i should add to this stock list? or what i could do? cause im seriously thinking about calling it quits!!!

btw the infection was treated and the survivors are healthy now
 
I had the same thing happen to me about two years ago and I did call it quits for the most part. Don't let it get to you bud, I feel like I missed two years of a great hobby. Anyway, sorry to hear about your losses hope everything turns out well.
 
I don't even want to ask what you lost for fish.

That is totally messed up.

I hope your sister has learned never to mess with your tank again.
 
Actually it would be helpful to know what you lost. You have fish for the bottom and the mid/top. How about a severum or a chocolate cichlid? Do you want to keep the lemon tetras? Or rather add to them?
 
i would add more lemon tetras to get the school back to normal. +1 on the severum or chocolates,but its possible that once the cichlids get big enough the schoolers might become lunch.maybe some acara types? i think the geo's need to be in a bigger group also? i have never keep them
