So I have decided to get rid of my 30 mbunas in my 140 gallon and get some more haps. The reason being I don't really like the behaviour as much as I used to.
The haps gracefully swimming around minding their own buisiness is something I really like. And the dietery needs will be much easier to satisfy.

Left in the tank are 1M/2F Hinderi, Super Red Empress (at least the male is), 1M/3F Cyrtocara Moorii, one BN pleco and 2 2.5 inch Leapord Sailfin gibbiceps.
First of I wanted to get at each male 4 lady friends with which to share the tank with, bringing it to 1M/4F ratio on both species.
I would also like to add 1M/4F venustus to bring some yellow to the tank. Each species look different in body shape which is another thing I would like.

As stated earlier the tank is 140 gallons 59.1 x 23.6 x 23.6
wide /deep / tall

Would this stock work for the tank size, Since haps grow almost double the size of mbunas.

1M/4F Red Empress
1M/4F Cyrtocara Moorii
1M/4F Venustus
1 BN pleco
2 Leopard Sailfin gibbiceps.

Love to hear from you guys with any input you can think of!

I've been scarred with keeping similar male to female ratios with all the rock I had and the fry I got afterwards.. Great way to get the tank populated though and the trading that took place at the LFS

I Wont be doing the Trade in this weekend, One of my red empress females died, newly added, my moorii male followed suit. The female was battered to death by the maingano, saulosi males. She was all torn up, nagged fins and torn scales.

The moorii male dropped for no reason 2 days later. He was lively and ate properly, then i left the house for 4 hours and When i came back hes dead lying on the bottom. No signs of any illness and no wounds from other fish.

No other fish show any signs of sickness or any aggression out of the ordinary.

How Long should i wait before i Trade in the mbunas?
