im running an xp3 on my 75 and ive been noticing some debris build up on the top of my sand. right now i have my spray on the top of the left side of the tank and my intake in the back right corner of the tank. are these the best positions or should i move them to get a better flow?

I like to possition mine so that you get more of a circular flow to keep things mixed up. your possitioning sounds good but when you use the spray bars you reduce the current quite a bit.

No matter what you do with your XP3 you are always going to have some build up on the sand, it just doesnt move that much water. Along with using the jet, supliment it with a powerhead as well that blows down across your sand bed, just not enough to kick the sand up, but enough to keep the crud afloat.

You know, I setup my FW tank kind of like a SW tank with different tides/jetstreams according to the moon. I think I'm the only one (ya, right), but I have my XP3 and Jebo 828 running 24hrs a day. I have a 300gph powerhead pushing my "current" during the daylight hours one direction, and another 250gph powerhead pushing the opposite direction at night. No debris buildup, no problems.
