A while back I had a pair of cutteri cichlids that I recently sold. I kept and am still keeping three of the fry I got from them and I'm soon getting rid of those fry. One concern I have is that two of the three fry have already paired up and are showing breeding coloration as well as the male seems to be digging out pits while the female cleans off the pot in the tank. I think they're actually going to breed and I'm concerned that the fry are going to be "mutants" because of this family tree.

Any thoughts on what the fry would be like?

Well I was finally able to catch the pair in my 75 (after the third attempt) and until I can get rid of them I have them in a 10G with some Cory eggs (the eggs are in a breeder net so the cichlids don't eat them). I worry a bit since the water temp is 68-70 F and I have no working heaters on me but I think they'll be fine. I'm hoping to trade them in to an LFS some time this week or next for some store credit or some other fish since I don't have room to setup a tank for them as much as I'd like and I don't think a ten gallon will last that long.
