My tank waters ph is 5.0 and I need to raise it. I don't know why it's so low as tap water is about 7 i don't use ro and have one piece of bog wood that has been in the tank for a while and my other tank before it. It's got a high flow and has airstones as well as the fxs nossles disturbing the water. The water parameters are 0 ammonia 0 nitrite and 10 nitrate

I would test gh and kh before messing with ph. My concern is that you might have a low kh if your water is shedding ph like that.

Right now a buffer like crushed coral would be beneficial. If your keeping SA cichlids and rays it might be helpful to have water like that.

I intend to keep Ray's but I think it's two low. Obviously if it was a wild discus tank it would be a good ph so always an option lol

test your tap water PH. See the difference from your tap and tank. Something in your tank may be affecting the PH. what kind of filter are you running? got a pic?

Found the issue out of date ph kit. Red my tap water as the same and basically any liquid

I usually just buff my water by using crush coral.. I know that wood in tank with lower pH.. I keep a bag of crush coral in my filter to automatically raise the pH.. when fish poop it will make pH lower in time..
