I need to increase the temp in my 29g aquarium. I'm sort of doing some major changes getting ready for a ropefish. I've been keeping my temp at 77F and would like to keep it at about 82F. I have a pleco and a red serpae tetra. My other fish are getting moved to another tank because they won't like the higher temp. How long should I take to slowly increase the temp?

Thanks

I increased the temp in one of my tanks 10 degrees in about 3-4 hours..probably not good to do but i was anxious to kill ich..i didnt lose anything

Never raise or lower your temps to quickly and also the tettra and pleco should do just fine in 82f.

A jump from 77f to 82f should be done in slow and small increases throughout the day. But if there's no fish in there then you could crank it up.
