A few weeks back i decided to sell one of my tanks. I had just purchased a TT at about 3 inches.
4 days before it had gone missing..Eaten, Escaped....I did not know. I looked inside the internal Jewell Filter but no sign.
4 days after that like i said i decided to sell. Moving the fish over the TT was not about.
Cleared all the water out of the tank. The internal was down to about 3 inches of water. I swished my hand around just incase. It was not there.
2 WEEKS later i suddenly heard a quick splosh, it did not come from my other tank. I dismissed it as it must have been as i have a few Ancients in my other always going up for air.
Next day again 'Splosh'...Now i know it was from that tank, i checked..Nothing
But i know what i heard, and again in only 3 inches of water in the filter i swished my hand around....Nothing
But now i though every last millimeter f water is to come out. Filtering a internal right to the plastic at the bottom is not easy but with a thimble bit by bit i did it and then swoosh there was the eel in no more than half an inch of water.
It had been there for 17 days of which 14 days was without food . heat. and oxygen and no space .
I got him out and what a Whopper!!
In two weeks i can swear he had trebled his size in that filter.
I was chuffed to have him back and just amazed

I got rid of it for fear that one day, it would miss the filter and end up on the floor. Quite a personality though.
