Hi,

I was thinking about using these in my Cherry Shrimp tank. With your experience, is this stuff really good? You think I should try it out? Also, I have a concern. Since it lowers PH, do you think this could shock my shrimp? Or is the decrease slow and they are able to adjust?

How many leaves or how much to use in a 10 gallon tank of shrimp? Thanks alot

1 indian almond leave per 10g, they are sizeable. You can also use seasoned oak leaves. I have used them in my neocaridina tank with no noticeable good or bad effects beyond the shrimp enjoyed grazing on them.

I had not noticed any impact on breeding when I used them in my cherry tank. The cherries breed like rabbits

Depending on your hardness levels, it'll take a lot of tannic acids to make a significant decrease in the pH enough to shock living creatures as it swings around. I haven't had problems using them. Oak leaves are much cheaper in the US than almond leaves which is quite the reverse here in Asia.
