So ever since I moved here I keep passing this store simply called Pet Store just off Rural and Michigan. From the outside it looks like it could be closed down but its not. Every time I look at it i wonder if I could pick up a mogwai there.

So today I finally decide to go in and check it out. It was definitely a hole in the wall and I had to make my way through a couple back rooms to get to the tanks. I was pleasantly surprised. They have more cichlids than they do community fish. A tank full of good sized Jack Dempseys for $10 a piece. They know their SA/CA cichlids a little better than Africans. Most of their African cichlids were labled simpley "African" and were generaly under $10. If you know what your looking for you will definately be able to get a steal. Since it's a mom and pop kind of place I imagine that you can talk them down on price. I'm feeling out how extensive their special ordering capabilities are right now but I imagine that if I want it they can get it. It's definately worth checking out if not just for the expierence. Oh and for all you reptile keepers out there they have a pretty decent section as well. Dingy but worth it. If any of you Indy guys want to go check it out I'll be happy to go down with you. It's only two mins from my house and I don't know why I never stopped in before. I'll stop by again and maybe get some pictures tomorrow.

Whats with the gremlin...?

If you've seen the movie, they called the gremlin mogwai. It was a reference to how odd this place looks. anyone with me here or am I just totally geeking out on this?

Lol! I forgot about that movie! I always like to check out the dingy hole in the wall places, sometimes they're a let down but more often you can get some real finds. Mogwai included:naughty:

That's not too far away from me. I'll have to go check it out.

where is it at???

If your downtown head north on rural from washington and then take a left on michigan. if you hit tenth street you've gone too far. once you turn on michigan it's a couple lights down on the left. it has a giant rabbit clock on the building and I just learned that it's actually called the fish bowl. or something similar. Michigan is a one way so the best way to get there is off rural. Like I said before, don't expect anything extravagant. But you can definately run into a few unexpected deals if you stumble upon something you want.

I didn't ask about selling fish to them. I should find that out.
