I want to know which species has more confidence in eating and swimming around in the tank. Do ntt's and indos have the same personality or are they totally opposite?

NTT. my 2 ITs would constantlly go at it. but the NTT never has got messed with either. had 2 AT's, 2 IT's and the NTT. the silvers would go at it, the IT's would go at it, and i'm sure if i had 2 NTT's they would go at it too. expecting a NGT anytime now so i'll keep you posted on that one.

edit...with the feeding the biggest silver got the most and then the biggest IT. my NTT was very shy even though he never got stressed.

Yea mine is very shy too he constantly tries to hide even though I have no hiding spots for it. He is stable though. I was wondering if your indos are constantly more active than the ntt and eat readily when being fed.:)

Not all datnoid have the same personalities even the same species. It depend on the owner on how he/she train their own datnoid to eat and the tank setup to make it the datnoid confident. Usually smaller datnoid are shy, it's just their nature to be shy to avoid large predators.

the IT's were more active then the NTT. but now that i dont have them and there is really nothing in the tank that the NTT has to fear he is more confident. i always hand fed my dats when i had 5 just for the fact the lil NTT didnt get as much. and my NTT was constantlly stable too thats why he was the only one i kept.

Mine ITs and NTT are all the same they all hide when they feel like it. They swim around when they feel like it so to me they are the same and when they are hungry they are always swimming around waiting to be fed. But not all dats are equal some dats have a totally different personality IMO i have some of them dats.

I have two indos, one thinbar and one ngt and they all try to out hide each other most of the time. The smaller indo used to be pretty outgoing untill the ngt took a dislike to him and started bullying him.My bigger indo is six inches and he will sit out in the open and lay flat on the bottom with his head turned up to the water surface waiting for krill to be dropped in.

i have 7 AT's biggest is 5 inch and i have a little 2 inch IT, i am surprised that the little IT is never hiding and when the traditional game of snatch happens at feeding time the IT really kicks ass and holds his own , if i had to choose 1 fish to keep , it would be my baby IT

I'm not sure that I'm lucky or not, but all my IT and NTT are all out and stable 24/7.

My NTT are more stable (better color) then IT. I agree that the NGT are very shy.

My NGT are rarely come out. They just come out at night.
I have 4 NTT, 2 IT, 2 ST, 2 NGT.

I'll post pics soon.
