Datnioides microlepis
I found a small group of these little IT Dats when they flooded the market last year...almost exactly 1 year ago actually. I bought the whole group hoping to get a classic 4 bar Indo out of it, ended up with not only a perfect 4-bar but also a perfect 3-bar. I kept this guy instead and returned the other 6 fish to the LFS. I kept him because he eats everything, loves hikari cichlid gold and excel pellets...plus he's always stable and out front, not shy at all.
anyway here's a shot of the little guy when I first got him, my notes say I got him January 1st of 2010, so pretty much a year ago...seriously, barely over 1/2" lol
and here he is now, I'd say a little over 4"...yeah, not the fastest growers but oh well, I'm patient
his head's a little out of focus in this one I know, but it shows his non-typical pattern
