Could be getting myself one of these in the next week or so, as a little self-birthday-present :) Anyone got any experiece with them? Found a few caresheets and going to have the tank setup similar to CWD, but just for the sake of hearing first hand experience...

My LPS has one about 25cm for £30. It's housed with some tiny CWD, but it looks more appealing to me, aswell as more healthy than they do. Should be good!

no experience but that thing is freakin cool

I was thinking something similar to a CWD setup, more aboreal than terrestrial, branches, a big water bowl, some hides and plants and a spotlight. Possibly about 30G of tank space since it's just a juvenile.

I'm not a follower of the UV light trend, because I haven't personally seen a benefit of it in my 10 years of keeping. Considering the bulbs give out a minute amount of what the sun does, I prefer to just supplement the diet with Vitamin D3 directly. I'm not trying to start a flame war, it's just my experience and I hope other keepers can respect that.

Anyway, it's birthday time, and the money's rolling in :D

Ok, first of you are rigth in that he can be kept in a very similar maner to a cwd;) However DONT put him with your other dragons, at the very least he needs to be put on quarentine for 1 or better 2 mouths, since its with no doubth a wild cauth specimen. Unless you are planning to build a very large terrarium it would be better to keep them apart specialy for the long term. Also I must disagree with the no use of a uv lamp regarding this guy and a few other species because in my experience it simply doesant work. Sun baths its no doubth a great idea, however it wont do him any good to be once a day transfered to be given sun bath, it will stress him and make him more prone to desiase in a period in wich he needs all the calm and tranquility you can possibly give him. Also dont give him extra D3, beleave me when I say you dont want to risk giving a overdose, give him the normal dose of a good brand suplement like zoomeds reptivite and that´s it, the rest should be provided by a very varied diet. As for the uv, its only a matter of 25$ or so, its not worth the risk of overdosing D3 or you causing him to get metabolic bonne desiase. It happens, even with a good diet and suplements, speacking by my own experience, water dragons, basilisks and iguanas must have uv at least in their young state for their squeleton to develop properly:)

Coura, thankyou for your input.

Not sure where the idea that I currently have CWD came from, I do not own any dragons I simply meant that they are kept with CWD in the store. This guy will be housed alone.

As for the UV issue, I do see that point about being easy to overdose, and will bear it in mind. The dragon isn't a baby, it's been in the store for over a year and is what I would call 2/3 grown based on the information I've found online.

Its a good looking baby, I saw some babies a few months back here in the states. Go for it Paul!
