hi im planning to build an indoor catfish pond 8 feet long by 6 feet wide was wondering about depth for them it willhave 2 evenly spaced braces with wood framed glass lids but unsure of depth could i get some opinions on depth was thinking 12 to 16 inches would be ok thoughts anybody oh and im using a pondliner to seal it up in plywood and 2x4 frame

24 inches sounds good too. at the moment i have 3 rtxtsn about 5 inch babys,1 i forget how to spell it achura cat 12 inches a 4 line and some other cat related to the 4 line family and a 4 inch cat lfs sold me as a tsn but has no stripes and is about 4 inches right now and is muscular looking with mostly gray markings i thought maybe a lima not sure.and a 6 inch albino asian redtail 24 deep would give me about 700 gallons i will have to check liner size i think it was 12 feet by 9 feet so i dont think it will reach with that 8by6 foot print it probably make 16 inches deep but i realize know water wont be right to top so my first thought was to shallow.whats in your collection of cats

this is one case where wider isn't gonna be better. either get a bigger liner or change to only 5'w so you can have the 2'h. also you'll probably have to water changes out of the sump or using an overflow if you go for the 16"h

You're gonna need the 5' width for an RTCxTSN. I'd go for 8x5x2 if your liner is large enough for that. Of course the deeper the better!!
