I have a 3 month old Morlets Crocodile. He's only about 10 inches long right now and is in an 80 gallon tank (about 3.5 feet x 1.5 feet with about a foot of water) I've been researching ways to make him a bigger enclosure for when he gets older (about 3-5 feet, gotta love the pygmies) I haven't had any luck thinking of ideas other than an above ground pool. He's got a ways to go but I'd like to go ahead and have an idea for when he does outgrow where he is right now. What I'd love to do is an indoor large pool area, I'm willing to sacrifice a bed room for it, I just have no idea where to even start building something like that. If anyone has any ideas it'd be awesome if you could share.

First, Morelet isnt a pygmy croc. Not by far. You got 10 footer or more on your hands.
Second, welcome to MFK :). Please include pics of your croc here ==> http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?365526-Croc-keepers-STEP-UP!&highlight=
Third, here is the build thread for my large indoor enclosure ==> http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?284318-The-v-onster-has-begun!!

or recent pics of the enclosure here ==> http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/f...8773-Hi-My-name-is-Le-Plat-and-Im-addicted-to

Lots to read, it will take you a good while but it will def help you. Quite detailed.

EDIT* I see wiggles posted a link to my build already :D.
EDIT** Snakeguy did too :D.

And the guide wiggles posted is great.

First off, Pygmy morelets? Someone ripped you off. Did you buy them from Parrish & Co. at a repticon? Those are not pygmies, they just had small parents. There is no proof that this is a genetic trait, for all we know, they were simply malnourished.

I suggest starting by reading this thread. LP did an excellent job of building an enclosure for his caiman. Keep in mind that you will need a minimum of a 20'x20' enclosure.

You guys need to type faster. :grinno:

20' x 20' seems kind of small, though. I always thought it was 3(SVL) x 4(SVL) for the land area, and 4(SVL) x 5(SVL) x 0.3 (SVL) for the water area; of course then, those are the minimums as required by law in Germany, so you could probably go smaller with no issues. The bare minimum that I've come across is the length and width of the enclosure are 3-4 times the animals length; by that standard, you're looking at a minimum of 30' x 30' with a larger size being preferable.
