Hello everyone. I was at Lowes today and they had 270 gallon ponds for $17 and 125 gallon ponds (with 165gph pump) for $7. I was planning on a couple ponds like this for the backyard next spring so I got one of each. Then I thought maybe I would add a pond to my fish room in the basement so I bought 2 of each!

Anyway now to the question. The 270 gallon I got is not very deep unfortunately so it has a whole lot of surface area. Do those of you with ponds in the house cover them? If not (or even if you do) do you have humidity and moisture problems with that much water inside?

Thanks.

Here are picks. Ignore the mess it was cold I just piled everything in the garage for tonight. The first pick is the 2-270 gallon ponds. The second is the 2-125 gallons. I added the third pick which is just some of the other crap I bought. I often use pond pumps for sumps in my fishroom and they had stuff so ridiculously cheap I bought a lot of extras. Even bought some filters just to get the pump and bioballs from them. Plus some other filters (that did not include the pumps) for $3 each just mostly to get the adapters, bioballs, and screens that came inside the pump.

If air temp drop in your fish room, of course you will get lots of moisture in your fish room. I have had the same problem. Get you a Dehumidifier then it will fix the problem.
