:( :( Hey all, new to the boards, well not that new just kinda lurk in the shadows. Have a questions and I am sure that someone out there can help me.. Currently I built an indoor pond which is approx 600 gallons. I made it totally tropical for my arowanas and other playtoys.. I framed out the whole project and put in a 45 epdm liner. All was fine. The liner does have folds that I used aquarium sealant and seems to be holding for now. BUT, this is where the issue comes in .... I have in the front of this pond a piece of 1/2 inch glass that is 5'w x 3' h... all is going good. I used aquarium sealant for this as well.. and braced the glass against the liner for over a week and seems to be sturdy, the glass wont move due to the fact that i have 5-600 gallons of pressured water against it. My question is... is there something else i can do to reinforce the glass and the seams...? I have tried double stick tape that roofers use on roofing jobs and so far so good, but starting to see bubbles which means the tape is pulling away from the liner...

What can i use to keep the folds together and sealed? And what can I use to keep the glass glued to the liner ? Is there anything else i could use besides aquarium chalking and double sided tape? Am I doing something wrong? I dont want to come home to a swimming pool in my living room... thanks
AND glad to be on board!!!!

No.

EPDM liners usually have welded seams from the factory. Are you trying to just keep the folds from opening?

Possibly using a solvent to stick the folds together, but I wouldn't do it.

They do make a patching material, maybe you could lay it over the folds to cover them.

As far as the window goes... Use a frame on the inside/outside with Stainless Steel bolts/washers & nuts. (If there are any discrepancies in the seal, water will work it's way thru it).

You can check with Sanitred and Pond Armor to see it there products will stick to EPDM liner.

Or do like CHOMPERS and get a really good shop vac. :grinno:

Any pix?
