Are we selfishly prolonging our own existence,*without concern for the world around us?
But who are we to stand in the face of the greatest force nature has ever known?
...To scoff at it while denying its existence
...To credit its work and beauty, to a man of our image
What we see as infection, is its overcoming of our impossible barriers...
Yet with each "cure"...
Comes more disease
Our medicine is our savior, the key to out survival,
for the erradication of disease,
but with it the purest of intentions...
If we are meant to live then live,
But what if we are meant to die...
Who are we to say no?
We pretend to understand you...
But you are a force the human mind may never comprehend..
And even then, the extent of your influence may skip along the borders of our dimension, and into realities beyond human thought
Maybe we are here as the inhibitor... the end product of a long process, returning to turn off the machine...
Perhaps what sets us above, is our ability to recognize the insignificance of it all...
To live, or die...
The most blunt interpretation of life, and its crudest existence.
The simple clause by which you operate..
But your own ruthless power has resulted in your demise
because now we see you...
and we will stop you...
and our species will in turn become the infection.
