Hi
I am thinking of getting a fish from this company (Amazon Inports) that I found off of Aqubid.
I can not find any info on them. and just want to be a bit careful ....he is willing to use pay pal or Escrow.com .
is my $$ covered by using one of those sites .. or still possible to get scammed when the fish arives....
:irked:

thanks

DONT DO IT!, pay pal CANT protect you . dont buy unless you are sure. if he cant provide references , like PETSHOPS THAT HE SELLS TO, then screw him! dont be a SUCKAH!! and forum mods cant do shet except BAN HIM, what good is that if he can just re-register under a different name from another comp. so buyer beware...
watcha planning on gettin ? ?

that is another problem ,, this forum has a good venders list and he is not on this forum...

and the escrow.com .... you get to look what came before releasing the money...... I would think scammer found way around that :>(

Does the guy have any sales on Aquabid. If so read the feedback. Paypal is pretty secure. If you are unsure do not let him invoice you. Ask him his paypal account name and you can send money to that account through paypal.com. That a way you know it is paypal and not a paypal copy. Paypal also has a number you can call and talk to someone. They can verify if the seller is a verified paypal member. Verified means that Paypal has a known credit card or bank account number on filefor the member. If you pay through paypal and he flakes, paypal will give you your money back.

he had one or two feed back on aqubid. it has been so long .. I think he had the action in Nov 07... I wanted a pair of fish and he told me he can get them ...I confronted him about his only 2 feed back when he ask for deposit ... told him " no money till ready to ship and because of the 2 feed back and no more actions I will only get them if we use pay pal or escrow.com " he has no problem using either one , told me he does more selling by the emails he gets from the action then the action it self .....

I'm fairly certain this guy has an Aussie accent and specializes in Discus and Sting Ray?

Check with simplydiscus.com if I'm right, they referred me to him a while back. He's a reputable guy - if he's the guy I'm talking about.

good possibility .right fish.. he put a name of nick on one of his emails ....
I cant find the email but I remember him emailing me that he is in New Orleans .. but I can't find the email to confirm where he is :>( ...
I will check with simplydiscus.com
thanks

Paypal is fine as long as the funding source is a credit card. Paypal tries hard to get you to pay with your checking account. Dont ever do it!!!! They tell you that they give you the most protection if you use your checking account, but the protection they give you is worthless crap. Your credit card company provides real fraud protection. Covincing you to use a check is Paypal's way to CYA against credit card chargebacks that are an inherent risk to them when they give a merchant account to just about everybody with little or no screening for crooks. Once a check you authorized clears your account, the transaction can not be reversed unless and they have no chargeback exposure. Creditcard transactions can be reveresed up to 180 days, sometimes more.

good info ... yup I do use me checking account with paypal .....
I had a probelm with ebay and paid with paypal and pay pal told me to contact ebay ....... :irked:

PayPal is junk, consider them a two faced car salesmen who happens to let you use their credit accounts.

They won't protect squat - as was stated. You either pay people you don't trust with a real credit card or you take your chances.

Even paying with a credit card and having to reverse the charges can hurt your standing with that company if it happens more then once every few years - so bottom line is do your research beforehand and make sound investments.
