Picked one up at my lfs since they had only 1 left. So I got that and a red hump geo. How big do the Geophagus obscurus get? Any info on them is greatly appreciated. I'll post picks later. Seems like he hides at times. But he is eating pellets. Thanks

It's one of the brasilinensis types if I remember correctly, but not sure if it's one of the smaller 6" species or the big bull 12" ones. Would need to check my books once I get home.

From the looks of it. It's the smaller one. Kind of resembles a Bandit cichlid but a little different. I have a pair of bandit Cichlids that look just like him.

It's listed in one of my books, but basically no info on them. No size, no natural habitat, nothing.

That sucks. Well, here's a few picks of him. The last pic are of my Bandit Cichlids which almost look just like him but you can tell the difference. When I first got him at the same time I got my red hump geo I had to immediately separate the both of them. The red hump wouldn't stop picking on him. So now he's in my 30 with 2 ebjd and a kille just for grow out. Seems like he is doing good with the ebjd. Thanks for trying to find info for me. Really appreciate it.

Hmmmm ... well the first first pics looks like a bandit cichlid, aka Guianacara sp.

The last pic looks like threadfin acaras, Acarichthys heckelii.

Really? The last pic are my 2 bandit Cichlids. That's what they were labeled at the lfs. The other 3 pics are the obscurus.
