My LFS got in two today an im thinking of getting one, can anyone give me any good info on them?

One of these guys

not too finicky they are very hard to train off of live food and will eat fish up to 2/3 of their own size.

they are prone to fin rot during transportation and acclimation, nothing a little maracyn can't fix but I would have some on hand.

These fish require ALOT of room even a small fish will run into the glass when spooked causing possible injury.

ok thanks, alotve room mayve swayed me into not getting one, as I think hed go nuts in my 120 wide.

These are awsome!! Lighning fast at feeding time..pretty hardy IME good community fish unless there are smaller fish in the tank...Enjoy bro :)

I have a 4" guy in a 75g and he never hit the glass.

Dude.....that is sweet.

How much do one of those run?

Is he a pretty vicious fish? Like during feeding time....is he a swallow them whole or tear them apart eater?

the owner told me there 45.00 each, not sure what other places charge.

from what ive read so far there a bit of both in eating.

I love mine, that fish is the craziest predator I have seen, and deadly accurate. Doesn't get spooked, and never misses a kill.

if a 120 wide is 24 wide (which I think it is) you should be fine for a long time

If you have never owned a true predatory characin before I highly recommend you give them a try
