Down South
I was thinking of stocking a pond with P Bass, can they live in the cooler weather if the pond is big enough??? It is about 1 acre in size and about 8' deep at it's best depth. I am in South Mississippi !! Give me your ideas on the thaught.
Also looking to buy a 300 gal. aquarium within driving distance of S. Ms.
If you have one to sell I am interested.

pm midnight he has a pond in west florida. The tricky thing is what the lowest temps you get there in s. missisippi?

Oh well I thaught the deeper water might help. Would have been a cool place to fish with those guys lurking around.
Guess I will just have to find a 300 + gal. for them.Ha!Ha!

Here in N. Mississippi it gets in the 20 to 40's for about a month or two. Really sucks. However, there are still some pbass about 10min. from me...which i just recently found out. They are in a private pond, and have been there for about almost two years now...;)

Your best bet is to wait for next spring. This coming winter, take temps of the pond at each 3ft of depth from surface to bottom. Include inshore and pond-center temps. These readings will provide a good knowledge base for determining which species can be maintained year-round.

Keep in mind Pbass have restrictions in their keeping in MS. The pond must be 100% isolated. There must be ZERO risk of mixing with native creek/stream/lake/river waters.
