Hi I have 2 albino's 10 inchs and 4 blue channels! Mine mostly eat shrimp pellets!! but they will eat fish/earth worms/blood worms/ basically anything that will fit inthere mouths!
they roughfly grow to 24 inchs but can get bigger! very territorial and will need there own hidding spot! very nice looking when small but as they grow bigger that will change! as for water conditions basically the same as most fish but generally do better in colder water!!!

They will live in various conditions, various temps, will almost literally eat anything.
i have one less than 2 years old that is 18" so prepare yourself for a monster eating machine.
Mine will go to a new home soon, IMO they arent good fish to keep unless you have a massive aquarium. they are very active and will slam the tank when they get larger.

They get really big, fairly quick and I agree with what the others said. Hope you have plenty of room for them.

Definatly not a 10 gallon type fish.............MONSTER fish and you came to the right site bro.........:headbang2

Pretty much what everyone else said, they get HUGE and you def. need massive space for it Id suggest a pond thats relativley wide - if you dont have that Id make arrangements with a place to keep it when it gets larger. They will eat anything and everything - they are eating machines - if it fits - it will go. I used to have one grew it about a foot and then it died =( Cool fish though.

Ya what they said.. you could even keep Channel cats in a pond all year round if you planned .. As long the water did not freeze close enough to the bottom that they coudl not move..

they have them here in northern montana and in canada, so that should tell you they can handle extremely cold water, and they also live throughout the rest of the US so they can handle just about any water condition. I have seen them kept with koi alot. I saw one in an indoor pond with koi that was around 36" and probably wieghed around 30 lbs or so. Don't under estimate this fish the world record is like 58 lbs, but don't qoute me on that. I know it's over 50 anyway. Good luck, and if you get tired of them, i know a good southern catfish dish i can share! jk
