I have seen freshwater clams/mussels for sale on internet. Has anybody had luck with them? What does it take to care for them properly?

I was thinking of adding them to a SA angel community I am planning.

Any help is appreciated.

I've tried freshwater clams before... But i think unless you have a fair amount of green water / zooplankton? For them to eat its pretty hard to keep them alive long term...

I have had luck with them, I had a post many years ago about my 5 inch clam. When I had em i used play sand in the bottom of my tank and he lived for many years will I got some chiclids which did a number on his foot which caused the clam to die. Fat Homer is right about feeding them greenwater/ zooplankton I used to throw all kinds of still into the tank, I had him in the grow out tank which i threw fry into the tank he was somewhat used as the main filter for the tank.
