Just wondering what you can tell me about these fish, I have two of them in a 75 Gal Tank mixed in with the rest of the fish in my Signature Below.

Any Info would be great.

Anyone?

I have seen called both, i blame it on the LFS cluster****s of problems, at least by me, plenty of names, but from what i can see, owning all of them, it is the same fish.

They are not commonly called Angelicus. Angelicus is usually used with reference to the synodontis species, Synodontis Angelicus. Pictus are called pictus, they feed well on sinking carnivore pellets/blood worms/etc and are one of the smallest pimeloid species.

How big do they get? what water temp, and PH do they like? how long do they live?

supposidly up to 10 inches, the biggest i personally saw was 8, the biggest i ever owned was 6.5-7. Its a long stretch you will get a big one, mostly due to genetics (or so i read) Its possible, and i dont want to say it cant happen, but its unlikely you will get one over 5-6 inches, many max out around 4" which i prefer, stuff a bunch of them into a tank, and you have a pretty amazing sight to watch. this is about as far apart as i can get mine, they live so tight i could probably put them in a bowl

fun fish, i have a few, they like to swim around with eachother, they are a very hardy fish, don't try to catch them with nets though, their fins get caught, bad news

Thats funny because my two stay on opposite sides of the tank from each other.

I've seen them up to 10-12" absolute max size. 76-82 should be fine, pH is typical south american 6.6-6.8 should be fine.

Reason they have so many names is the supplier. Suppliers of fish all call them different names, most pet stores will have more than one fish supplier. One supplier I use states pictus cats, the other states PIMODELLA ANGELICUS.

Problem occurs when the pet store workers don't know that they are the same fish.
