Go to the characin section, as rocket gars are not a true gar species. They are characins.
True gars species are:
shortnose gar
longnose gar
spotted gar
florida gar
tropical gar
cuban gar
alligator gar

I never keep one myself. All I know from a friend that they will only eat fish. They are also shy and sensitive fish when small.

they are from south america, hujetas are most commonly called rocket gars.
like already said, not a "true" gar species, is a characin. will jump when scared. usually like to be in groups of 3 or more.
they grow really slow... hope this helps

when i got mine, the lfs owner said "he only eats live fish" and i was like crap but o well i really wanted one and they are a nice "mini" predator from SA. so i got home and tried freeze dried krill i had left over from when i had my silver arow and bam my hujeta hit a piece.
i was so happy
