Quarantine Tank
Starting to do some research on possibly getting some Rose-Line Sharks. Anybody here ever have them? I just saw some for the first time at my LFS and they were about 7 inches at $70 each. Great colors and basically looked kinda like very large yet active white clouds w/ yellow tips on their tails.

Any additional info on them would be appreciatted!!! :)

Some questions I cant find answers to include....

What other fish do they get along with?

Reasonable prices?

Max. size?

Diet needs?

Never heard of them before, apparently they were once considered threatened but are now farmed, this is what I found,
Puntias denisonii, up to 6" long, from India, they like planted tanks and small groups, prefer water in mid 70d F., ph 6.8- 7.8, like a current like from a powerhead, peaceful. prices ranged from $19-$40 for fish between 3" and 5"long.

So any idea what would happen to them if I placed a mid 70 degreee water fish into an 80 degree tank???

I don't know, it is borderline. The couple sites I saw say to 78 degrees.

The only thing ive read on doing this is to make sure there is plenty of oxygen in the water since cold water hold more than warm, but how would one do this???

:feedback: :feedback: :feedback:

p.s. yes, they were on the endangered species list up until 2002. the LFS also had a write up about them on how it takes three days of travel and a couple days of hiking to get these guys, do you think that this is simple hype to jack the price up???

That I can help with, add a powerhead with an air venturi.
