Hiya Styles30, Welcome to MFK.
Is this the one they sell as a freshwater or bumblebee grouper? If so I wish they would not sell them, they can get to 9 feet long and 880 pounds, you are going to need a much larger tank. It is the Epinephelus lanceolatus if you want to do a google search.
This fish comes up for discussion here every once in a while. It is really a salt water species that tolerates fresh water when young, but like the mangrove snapper needs in increasingly saline environment as it ages, yours should be in at least lightly brackish water to remain healthy. I don't know what else to tell you except that in the wild their favorite food is large crabs and lobster though they will eat just about any meaty food.
Growth information on them is scetchy but yours is probably 3-4 years old and that by the time it is 8-10 years old it should be pushing the 5 foot mark.
