What kind of fish and what size comparing to the turt? Fish can outcompete turts very easily but softys in retrebucion bite of a chunk of fish every now and then. I would recomend putting them apart. That 5 foot will do, unless it turns out to be a very large female. If female in the long term you will also need a egg laying areaalexheath;3210624; said:i have a 5ft by 2ft by 2ft tank is this big enough? also i currently have him in the 5ft tank with so large peaceful fish i may beable to get her a 3ft tank to herself but she will get too big. at the moment im feeding her turtle pellets but im not sure if she is eating them i have been finding her feaces but thats all.

any more info is welcome
First your going to remove both the pleco and the catfish, specialy the pleco can severely injure your turtle by ataching to it and bitting her shell. Second sex its determined by tail length, a long thick tail means its a male turt, shorter its a female.alexheath;3212477; said:the turtle is currently in the 5ft with a large pleco a 3 inch catfish and a jade eye cichlid about six inchs the turt is 2.5 iches ish so should i move her to the 3ft for the time being im not sure about the sex of the turtle. how do you find out?

i would remove the fish but i have nowhere to put them because of their size. i can move the turtle but only to a 150 litre when she is bigger can i put her back in with the fish?
The pleco is a reall danger to your softshell, dont house her with himalexheath;3213223; said:i have sexed my turtle it is a female.
