Information about Rotkeils for classroom!

My girlfriend is a Spanish Teacher, and had interest in keeping a South American fish tank in her classroom. I talked her into one of my Rotkeils, and I was wondering if there were any interesting information on them that any of you guys knew:

Locations in the wild
Prey in the wild
Predators in the wild
Importance to the locals
Common names to the locals
And any other info you guys know that would be of good use from an educational standpoint for a classroom to get students interested in the South American fauna and culture!

You should probably realize that this is a forum, not a chatroom and its the middle of the work day when most people, if they are fortunate enough , are at work.

Feel free to take initiative and use the MFK search function, google and other online resources to answer your questions (or better yet, show your girlfriend how to) instead of waiting around to see if someone else did your/her research for you/her. ;)

I dont keep and have never kept rotkeils, so i dont have any help other than what I stated above.

I waited 24 hours for a reply, if you worked the entire day I'm quite sorry.

I know there are a few people that take trips down south to collect cichlids and hoped to gather some knowledge from them. Bringing up a Google page is relatively simple and can be done on my own, that's not really what I was looking for.
