Hey MFk. Ive seen a bunch of pics on fahaka puffers (sorry if i spell it wrong)

Can anyone give me info on them? - Tank size req, fresh or salt water? max growth? Easy to breed? Unbreedable?

I heard they have teeth as well?

I like their species because of the color. It looks awesome :D

Totally fresh water puffers. They get big, as in BIG and need a big, spacy, tank, around the 125 gallons at least.

I have 2 together, which is a rarity, as almost everybody will tell you that Fahaka's don't mix, conspecifically and, at large, with other tankmates.

Apart from that they are an amazing, highly intelligent puffer.

There are reports of someone breeding them in captivity, which is difficult, since they are breeding at, at the same time, killing each other.

I used to own one. I don't have much time, so i'll keep it short.
Tank - 125 gallon minimum for adults.
Growth - 1 inch per month
Max Size - 17" give or take a little
Freshwater
Will attack and eat most if not all tankmates
Breeding very unlikely unless you have a very large tank
Very cool personality - will recognize owner

IMO

180g min.

To add to what others have said, keep up on water quality since they are very messy eaters and be ready to provide crayfish as it helps shave their beaks down.

O.o they have beaks? not tooth? WHat do you mean they kill each other while breeding?

it means they're very aggressive towards eachother and the breeding process may leave you with a dead adult.

they get up to 20'' and are one of the few true-freshwater puffers. it's really cool to watch them hunt down feeders.
