Gets to about two feet and fifteen pounds. I've never seen one for sale personally. There's also practically no information on the husbandry of this fish online, but I imagine it's care and behavior would be rather like caring for a giant flagtail prochilodus. ALL I can find on this fish is published scientific documents regarding it's natural history. This seems to be a fish practically unheard of in the hobby near as I can tell.
Is this fish in a different family from the freshwater tarpon. I have a tarpon but the mouth is much from this fish and the dorsal fin is different but see some similarities.
Thanks for the information chic, yeah i noticed that is very rare to find one in the hobby and someone was trying to offer me one for 100 so was curious to see if it was worth it.
